Hello Everyone! This past Saturday was free museum day in Los Angeles and coincidentally they recently opened the Diane Von Furstenberg "Journey of a Dress" exhibit at LACMA to showcase her 40th anniversary for her iconic Wrap Dress. As a long time admirer of Diane Von Furstenberg, one of the most iconic woman in fashion, I decided to take good advantage of the free admissions and pay a visit to her exhibit. When I first entered the exhibit, the first thing that caught my eye aside from shocking pink walls, the neon sign saying "Feel like a woman, wear a dress!", and the black and white printed floors was the white wall with her inspirational quote on fashion, simply printed in black colored letters. Seeing her Wrap Dress through the images on the pink wall worn not only by herself, but also by very well known people was amazing. The one thing that really stood out to me on that pink wall was seeing the letter she received from Vogue. It was most certainly one of the most inspiring things I saw in the exhibit that day. It was a piece of evidence showing that if show your passion in something and keep chasing your dreams someone will recognize it and great things can happen. I was astounded when I walked into the room with all her iconic Wrap Dresses. It was visible that each and every one of her collections had a very clear and sharp direction. I really loved how she took the Wrap Dress and manipulated it into so many ways, whether it was changing the fabric, adding a trim, making adjustments to the length, adding a collar, etc. I must say that I left the exhibit really inspired, not only from Diane Von Furstenberg's designs, but also from the woman herself. I personally think that these pictures do not do the exhibit justice. If you are interested and are in the Los Angeles area anytime from now to April 1, I highly recommend and encourage everyone to pay a visit themselves because you may leave there finding some different inspiration. Take care and talk to you soon!
